CA Bill SB 1377

 

What SB 1377 Addresses

Protects Students with valid medical exemptions cannot be denied access to school or educational opportunities.

Protects Doctors – Physicians cannot be investigated, disciplined, or targeted for issuing medical exemptions unless there is proven fraud or invalidity.

Protects Privacy – Schools cannot demand sensitive diagnosis details, and medical exemption records must remain confidential except in narrow legal circumstances.

Protects Against Government Overreach – State and local authorities cannot revoke or condition a medical exemption without a court order and clear evidence of fraud.
